While we’ll be Quinceañera-ing in spirit, we will celebrate her colorful life and career by remembering 10 of the most-revealing bites she’s shared with MTV News. So, dabble on some glitter, put on your best wig, platforms and leotard, and let’s take a stroll down memory lane ? in no particular order.

10. In 2009, Gaga sat down and explained that when “Poker Face” was re-imagined by Kanye West and Kid Cudi as “I Poke Her Face” (later changed to “Make Her Say”), she felt that it was time for someone to get the true meaning of the lady-love euphemism.

“It’s funny, because a lot of my fans were like, ‘Gaga, Kanye wrote a song … and it’s not about what your record’s about. Your record is about gambling, and this song is about dirty sex things,’ ” she recalled. “I said to them, ‘You’re wrong. Kanye was right,’ ” she explained, laughing.

“That’s exactly what this song is about. The record is about how I used to fantasize about women when I was with my boyfriend. It was really exciting that he had so much insight into what the song was about. He’s a cool guy.”

9. Gaga’s pop-music kinship with Beyoncé has been well-documented in two songs: G’s “Telephone” and B’s “Video Phone.” When Gaga headed to shoot the Hype Williams-directed video for “Video Phone,” she had this message for the team: “I said, ‘I want to do you in your video, and I want to tribute you. I want to dress up like you,’ ” Gaga recalled telling her co-star. “And Hype Williams … was so excited. He was like, ‘Gaga, I want no makeup on your face.’ It was really stripped down ? real Beyoncé hair, and we wore the same outfit in the video, and I [paid tribute to] her.”

8. Gaga’s love for her hometown of NYC is hardly surprising, and she shared on the MTV special “Inside the Outside” that when she sat down to write the track “Marry the Night,” “he” was the perfect muse to inspire the song. “It’s never gonna go away, the tan of New York never goes away,” she explained about always identifying with the city that bred her.

7. During the same special, Gaga opened up about her other inspiration ? her fans ? adding, “The biggest surprise to me has been my relationship with my fans. They’ve changed my life. The fans are the thing that you can’t learn; they were the instrument in the music that nobody taught me about.”

6. Always politically charged and motivated, Gaga has made it her mission to not only make chart-topping music, but also be a voice for the disenfranchised. When she sat down for “MTV First: Lady Gaga” in 2011, she explained that, despite her strong political beliefs, she wouldn’t want to run for office.

“Well, first of all, I wouldn’t want to be president for the day,” she said. “And I say that because I really, for myself, it’s important that my message, although it has political implications, I like to keep myself separate because politics can constrain things,” she continued. “So, our message can be completely free of any politics, and we can just surge forward.”

5. During that “MTV First,” when she debuted her video for “Yoü and I,” the singer discussed how difficult love can sometimes be and how her art explores that theme. “Sometimes in love, you can’t make it work,” she said. “No matter what you do, there’s this giant boundary between you and someone else. So, that’s what it’s about: perceiving in your imagination that there’s something magical inside of you that you can make it work.”

4. At the 2011 VMAs, she pulled the ultimate costume change by appearing as her male alter-ego, Jo Calderone. Gaga, as Jo, took home the Moonman for her fist-pumping equality anthem “Born This Way.” Afterward, Jo explained, “She was texting me after the award, after I picked it up for her, and she just said, ‘You know, more than anything I’ve ever gotten before, this means more to me, because “Born This Way” is about the fans and the fans are more important to me than anything I do; more important than f—ing breathing, you know?’ “

3. In late 2011, Gaga released her semi-autobiographical video for “Marry the Night,” noting that history can be reinterpreted for her art, if need be. “This was one of the first times that the fashion didn’t propel so much of the story line,” she explained. “It is autobiographical, so the entire story’s true, and it’s through the lens of how I choose to repaint my past.”

2. Behind every great woman is a great Haus. Gaga’s famed, rarely spotted, Haus of Gaga are the folks who help create the live shows, fashions and accessories she wears. And they mean everything to her. “They’re my best friends,” she said. “I’m not really sure what the world thinks … but I do hear things like, ‘Who is the Haus of Gaga?’ and ‘Are you putting out a fashion line?’ And no one gets it. It’s not a commodity. It’s not something that’s meant to be sold.

“It’s a real bond and relationship, and that’s what I think music and art is about,” she said. “They are my heart and soul. They believe in me, and they look at me like a mother and daughter and sister, with pride and love.”

1. In the end, everything Gaga does is for her art, and there’s no place Gaga feels more at home than onstage in front of thousands of screaming fans. “I don’t see the live show as extension of the record at all, it’s meant to be a completely different experience with the artist, with myself. I want my fans to come and go to a party,” she told MTV News.

“I want them to watch the show and think, ‘I’m so f—ing cool that I am here right now.’ It’s about them. It’s about love. It’s about art. The show is meant to bring a tremendous feeling and sentiment of escapism.”

The Darkness confirmed the news Tuesday morning (April 10) on their official site (which, in a very Darkness move, is called TheActualDarkness.com), writing that they were “honoured [British spelling, extra classy] to announce their addition to the bill as main support for Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Ball tour 2012.”

The glammy, hammy rockers ? best known for theatrical hits like “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” and “Growing on Me” ? burned bright before imploding in 2006, but announced a reunion (and plans for a new album) just last year. And as a way of kickstarting the next chapter of their career, frontman Justin Hawkins appeared in a well-received Samsung commercial that aired during Super Bowl XLV, in which he starred as a Spandex-clad pied piper who rescued folks from the monotony of everyday life. So, you know, it was basically a documentary.

It’s not clear if the Darkness will serve as the opening act on all of Gaga’s Euro dates (a spokesperson for the band did not respond to MTV News’ request for comment by press time), but, thanks to the Mother Monster herself, we now know that there are European dates for the much-discussed BTW Ball.

Gaga unveiled the first 21 shows early Tuesday morning on her Twitter account. After kicking off August 14 in Bulgaria, she’ll make stops in Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, Germany, France and the U.K. before wrapping October 6 in Barcelona.

The National Eating Disorder Association even weighed in, hitting its own Twitter account to write, “Huh? This is the same person who recently implored girls to stop dieting?”

MTV Buzzworthy has an Open Letter To Lady Gaga While it seems clear that Gaga was joking ? who hasn’t dove into a salad wishing it was something else? ? the comment does appear out of character for the star, who has spoken publicly about her own struggles with an eating disorder as a teen. Using that particular hashtag might have been a poor choice, but it’s safe to say Lady Gaga wasn’t knowingly making light of eating disorders ? and, otherwise, wasn’t she mostly just encouraging exercise and healthy eating? Gaga tweets often about all sort of less-than-healthful habits, from drinking (“after 12 margaritas my phone was confiscated”) to, well, other things (“princess xena of xanaxland has lil secrets in her inbox”). Why she is being scrutinized for making an observation about something we already know ? that celebrities engage in intense fitness regimens to meet the unrealistic expectations placed on their appearance ? is kind of a mystery. Speaking of pre-show moments, we’re pleased to announce that the star-studded cast of “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” will be on hand to help present the trailer for the highly anticipated film during our pre-show. The lovely Emma Watson helped break the news via her Twitter account on Wednesday (May 16).

“#PerksOfBeingAWallflower Trailer is going to show at the @MTVMovieAwards pre-show!” Watson wrote. “@LoganLerman and Ezra and I will be there to present. : )”

“The Perks of Being a Wallflower” is based on the popular Stephen Chbosky novel of the same name. The story revolves around introverted high school freshman Charlie (Logan Lerman) as he slowly comes out of his shell thanks to new friends, siblings Sam (Emma Watson) and Patrick (Ezra Miller).

Watson will not only be attending the show as part of the “Perks” trailer presentation, but will also be representing “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2,” for which the lovely actress is a double nominee in the Best Female Performance and Best Kiss categories. “Deathly Hallows, Part 2″ has a chance to take home major Movie Awards gold given their six nominations but faces fierce competition from “The Hunger Games” and “Bridesmaids,” which are the most-nominated movies this year.

“Just to speak honestly and being frank, I don’t care,” the “Live Your Life” MC said about the non-stop debate on same-sex marriage when he appeared on Wednesday’s “RapFix Live.” “I think that if a matter doesn’t affect your daily life, you shouldn’t take a hard stand on it. If it’s not something that directly affects you, if it doesn’t affect you, what difference does it make to you what other people are doing with their lives?”

Intrepid Twitter fans are already showing off pictures and video of the BTW Ball’s enormous Gothic castle backdrop and myriad costume changes, making it clear that Gaga has outdone even her own Monster Ball in terms of spectacle.

While we wait for reviews to trickle in from halfway around the world, one thing is certain: No minors were corrupted at the show. Earlier this month, the Korea Media Rating Board decided to elevate the age rating for the concert from 12 to 18, prohibiting minors from seeing the concert. When the board notified Gaga’s tour promotion company and a sponsor of the change in age restrictions, it did not offer a reason why the show ? which at the time was still in rehearsals and had not been reviewed publicly ? was considered unsuitable for children under 18.

The likely catalyst for the board’s decision came more into focus as the concert neared and protests from a group of conservative Christians calling itself the Alliance for Sound Culture in Sexuality ramped up. The group covered Seoul with posters accusing Gaga of “spreading unhealthy sexual culture” through “lewd lyrics and performances.”

The superstar and her fans, however, were undeterred. Though she tweeted her hopes that the Korea Media Rating Board would reverse its decision (it didn’t), she continued on as planned. Many fans reportedly arrived at the show wearing versions of Gaga’s most well-known flamboyant costumes, and there have been no reports of disturbances at the concert.

Before the show, Gaga tweeted, “I can you hear you Korea. I’m shaking.”

Gaga’s performance was heavy on material from her Born this Way album, though her biggest hits, including “Bad Romance,” Poker Face” and “Just Dance,” were represented.

“Hopefully after all of this we can go and we can do it in the summer, like lock ourselves away for a few weeks in the Valley [in L.A.] in a little production office and get together really weird, freaky actor people,” she told MTV News. “It’s filled with like the coolest characters.”

The film centers on Mya (Stewart) and Chris, a couple from San Fernando Valley who sell a fake snuff film and disappear with the money. But Mya, who’s thought to be dead, must head back to Cali years later to save the younger sister she left behind. When she and Chris return, they’re faced with an array of characters, including “angry former business partners, homicidal porn stars, stoner vet techs [and] an unstoppable killing machine in a cowboy hat.” Michael Diliberti (“30 Minutes or Less”) wrote the script.

“I’m from the Valley. It’s been a while since we captured that world and it’s super extreme, everything about it. I think it’s like, it’s extremely violent, it’s extremely funny, extremely emotional,” she explained about the film, which will be Stewart’s first producer credit. “But all very kind of, not hard to watch, but real.”

Until she gets real in “Cali,” KStew will close the “Twilight” chapter of her career when “Breaking Dawn – Part 2″ opens this November. She’s expected to hit up the Cannes Film Festival to premiere “On the Road,” in which she’ll showing another real side of herself when she appears nude.

“I wasn’t scared, honestly,” Stewart told MTV News of the sex scenes, including a ménage à trois with co-stars Garrett Hedlund and Sam Riley.

“It’s kind of insane to watch now. I’m like, ‘Who is that?’ But I think ? as every actress says when they do this is ? it just felt so right,” she said. “It was so within a different world and so within a different environment that I don’t even really feel ? I mean, I am personally connected to it, of course ? but it is something outside of myself.”

Though sales were down 55 percent, that was enough to edge out a resurgent Adele, who may have benefitted from the Mother’s Day Bump for her unstoppable 21, which was up 31 percent and two spots to #2 on sales of 101,000. That holiday push helped lift Adele over the 9 million mark in the U.S., with diamond status now well within reach.

The rest of the top 10 was fairly stable, with buzz band Silversun Pickups landing an impressive debut at #6 with their third full-length studio album, Neck of the Woods, while Tank rumbled in at #9 with This is How I Feel (33,000).

The rest of the top 10: Lionel Richie continues his remarkable late-career roll with Tuskegee, which moved up three spots to #3 (71,000) as sales passed the 750,000 mark. NOW 42 held in at #4 (65,000), followed by Norah Jones, Little Broken Hearts (60,000), One Direction, Up All Night (#7, 40,000), Jack White, Blunderbuss (#8, 34,000) and Luke Bryan, Tailgates & Tanlines (#10, 26,000).

It was a swift trip in, and out, of the top 10 for B.o.B, whose Strange Clouds fell seven spots in week two to #12 as sales dipped by 67 percent to 25,000. Further down the line, British soft rockers Keane were in at #17 with Strangeland (19,000), while “SNL” musical guests and Internet sensations Karmin snuck into the top 20 at #18 with their debut EP, Hello (19,000).

Underwood also topped the iTunes album chart, acing out Silversun Pickups, who were followed by Adele, B.o.B, One Direction, Karmin, Keane, Gotye‘s Making Mirrors, White and Jones. On the iTunes singles chart, Maroon 5 locked down #1 with “Payphone,” beating out Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know,” Carly Rae Jepsen‘s “Call Me Maybe,” Justin Bieber‘s “Boyfriend” and fun.‘s “We Are Young.” Flo Rida was at #6 with “Wild Ones,” Nicki Minaj just behind with “Starships,” then One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful,” Jennifer Lopez‘s “Dance Again” and 2 Chainz‘s “No Lie.”

The top 10 will get shaken up next week with the arrival of Adam Lambert‘s second major-label album, as well as new discs from Beach House, Godsmack, the “Glee” Cast Graduation album and the newest slab of rockitude from Tenacious D.

Travolta’s lawyer, Martin Singer, said the withdrawal means the actor has been “completely vindicated” and added that, “we fully expect that my client will similarly be vindicated with respect to Doe #2, as well as with respect to any other person who makes meritless claims against John Travolta.” Despite Singer’s claims, Okarocha he stood behind the second unnamed plaintiff, who claimed Travolta groped him during a massage in an Atlanta hotel last January. “I can guarantee that John Doe #2 has a truckload of witnesses to back up what he’s saying,” he said.

Okarocha said the second therapist’s claims are reportedly backed up by a series of e-mails in which he complains to his supervisors about Travolta’s advances. Reacting to that comment, Singer said the documents he’s seen online purporting to be one of those e-mails, “significantly does not refer to my client at all, nor does it make any mention whatsoever of any of the things outrageously alleged in Doe #2′s lawsuit … Instead, Doe #2 voiced complaints about his co-workers gossiping and being insubordinate.”

The fact that the e-mail doesn’t once mention Travolta’s name, “says it all,” according to Singer. “Nothing that is alleged in Doe #2′s lawsuit was mentioned in the e-mail he sent to his bosses, making his claims even more unbelievable … The allegations in ‘Doe #2′s’ lawsuit are unraveling, just like ‘Doe #1′s’ ridiculous allegations, which were proven false and impossible,” he said.

Okarocha appeared confident in his case, though, vowing to “mop up” in the courtroom with the witnesses and documents in the case against Travolta. “I think I can show a custom, habit and practice,” Okarocha said, referring to his claims that the actor has sexually assaulted dozens of other massage therapists over the years. “If I bring in 100 people that don’t have an ax to grind, don’t want any money, they’re in 50 different states, they don’t know each other, they’re all massage therapists, they all have dates, they’re at different spa resorts and they say this exact same thing happened, it’s pretty hard to refute.”

Unlike the first accuser, Okarocha vowed that his client, “ain’t going nowhere,” and is looking forward to a trial.

Travolta, 58, has been married to actress Kelly Preston for 20 years and has repeatedly denied whisper campaigns about his sexuality.

Before dropping the first accuser, Okarocha apologized on Friday for putting the wrong date of the John Doe #1 incident in the lawsuit, which his client initially told him occurred on January 16, 2012. Singer was able to produce a restaurant receipt and a time-stamped photo that showed Travolta was in New York, not Los Angeles, on that date. Rather than amend the lawsuit, Okarocha decided to withdraw the allegation from the suit and drop John Doe #1 to avoid hurting the chances of the second plaintiff’s suit.

Radar Online reported that John Doe #1 has hired famed L.A. attorney Gloria Allred to represent him. “I represent John Doe #1. Mr. Doe’s lawsuit was dismissed without prejudice which means that he is still legally entitled to file another lawsuit against John Travolta if he chooses,” said Allred. “We are in the process of conferring with him regarding the next steps, which he may wish to take. Our client and our firm has no further comment at this time.”
